On Wednesday, July 17th,  at 3:00 PM, South Windsor elected officials and business leaders will celebrate a new economic development venture that will benefit South Windsor and the state.

State Sen. Saud Anwar, State Rep. Jeff Currey, and South Windsor Mayor Andrew Paterna and others will be among those who will gather next to 1523 Main Street in South Windsor to give details on the state’s new pilot program for the cultivation of hemp.

The pilot program allows Incredible Edibles to grow nearly 20 acres of hemp products in South Windsor, the highest raw acreage of hemp production in the state.

Earlier this year, the state legislature approved a measure that allows commercial hemp farming.
