Connecticut Democratic Party Chair Nancy Wyman released the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s Sunday Tweets about Democratic Members of Congress.
“Just when it seems Donald Trump couldn’t sink lower, he does. Yesterday’s attack on four Democratic congresswomen is racist and, yes, misogynist. Whether or not we all agree on policy, it is inherent in the foundations of our government and our society that we respect one another’s right to have an opinion and to share it. And when we see abuse, to confront it.
“Republicans have been much too quiet. Many are colleagues, and some are even friends. We’ve disagreed on a lot, but not basic human decency. Now is the time to speak up, my friends.”
